But don't you think half of the problem is allowing the George Cross to be hi-jacked by the right wing in the first place?
Surely if it can be taken back from the right wing then isn't that the way to go?
Apart from the fact that the UK has less Bank Holidays than any other country in Europe, surely we need more reasons to celebrate!
I was in Spain last year and they must have about 30 public holidays.
I doubt the average Brit knows who St Patrick was. Education. You're right in that respect.

True, the only way that can be done is every english person and british people of ethnic origin started celebrating the English flag I really respect americans on how they wear their fllag with pride shame we don't have that over here. I have a lot of friends who are asian and frankly they wouldn't be seen dead wearing or carrying an english flag because they automaticaly associate it with racism now that can change but it has to start at school and with the government bringing in legislation to take back our flag and start celebrating us being english

Its a funny old world. When it comes to Athletics and the footy World Cup, the flag gets paraded around willy nilly by all supporters - regardless of their origin.
The mind boggles.

He also made a kind of self-deprecating joke about England being distinguished for it's lack of a national dress, but that went over the BBC's (and numerous complainant's) heads as well!
What would you say the English National dress was, btw

Track suites, trainers and hoodies at the moment...
It's like I said in another thread recently; it's about time the English people got their backbone back. But arrogant so-and-so's like that particular 'gentleman' don't help the situation at all.

Well, its hardly Saville Row but its not trackies and trainers.
Probably a bowler hat and a stiff shirt.
The heart of England is in Lancashire or Yorkshire.
