I did something similar to others and have gone to another manufacture and bought an LG Renoir until SE release something stable enough thats worth buying. IMO A200 should have never seen the light of day considering the state of it. Even 1 1/2 years on and it still has the same problems as it did on its initial release. The only A200 phones I've found that are somewhat stable enough are the T700 and the W890 but even those still have some faults.

Another vote for the iPhone here, it's the very definition of an intelligent, hassle-free smartphone, and is about to get better with OS3.0 (which fills in all the gaps like copy & paste, MMS, stereo bluetooth etc).
Yep, fills the lack of features on a £600 odd phone that I can enjoy on a £20 phone!!! Lets not forget the STUPID control of Apples nanny state apps. For instance, someone wanted to sell an app that lets you view newspapers, Apple banned it because The Sun has boobs in it! They also banned a Twitter app because PEOPLE SWEAR ON TWITTER!
Yeah great forward thinking company! Thankfully there are RUMOURS that Apple will introduce parental controls in OS3 and then just maybe relax there utterly old fashioned dumb thinking don't want a law suite controls. So yeah, Apple has the potential to get it right after 2 years!
Yes the iPhone has an amazing OS, well built, but by God it lacks in sssssooooooooooooo many SIMPLE areas that frankly any company launching a consumer aimed device costing more then a laptop should be doing by default! From LAUNCH!
Sorry for the rant but the iPhone is far from the Jesus phone owners would have you believe.
As for the OP, keep your G900 and then as already sudgested buy an Idou at the end of the year, or wait for an Andoid phone you like and isn't locked to a network like the Magic. Unless you like Vodafone?

been through the a2/a200 pain ... currently on a w705 which has surprised
me - it's actually very stable. I haven't had one glitch/reboot/crash so far (I've
probably just jinxed it though .... ).
The W902 was quite good, slow, but at least it didn't crash.
The C902 ... crashed during calls or texting.
The K850 ... well nuff said there !
The W910 ... More crash central.

If you like, but it's a tired old point that will be history in June. It's true that the iPhone's lacked a few basic features up till now, it's also true that it's had many extraordinary features that will never be found on a £20 phone.

Actually the appstore hasn't even been open 1 year yet, but they've still gotten enough right to distribute one BILLION app downloads, so arguably they're doing something right. They're certainly walking all over Symbian, Android, and Windows Mobile at the moment. With parental controls (which *are* coming in OS3) things should get better.

From launch the iPhone wasn't even a smartphone, just a fancy ipod with a few basic phone functions. The genius of Apple is the way in which they've developed and supported it since then, opening it up to third party apps, addng feature after feature to iPhones both new and old, even right up to this year when all those "soooo many SIMPLE areas" are going to be catered for and even people like you, who've never been near an iPhone, are running out of things to complain about.

Guys, please don't turn this into an iPhone debate. It's just a phone, regardless of what everyone thinks.
Anyways, you should give Samsung or LG a try. Their latest phones seem quite promising (INNOV8, Omnia HD, Renoir, Arena...). It's pretty obvious you don't want to change brands, but face it, SE aren't going to clean up their act any time soon.

The W715 is available in NZ now. If I had a spare 800 bucks I don't think I could stop myself getting it. Would be a tough choice which one to use and which to give to my wife - W715 or iPhone?

Agreed with that, just can't let a rant go un-return-ranted. Like I said before, the two Android phones and the new Symbians like Samsung's Omnia HD are well worth checking out too, or perhaps the Nokia 5800 even. The point is there's actually a LOT of very interesting stuff out there now or coming very shortly, it's just that none of it is coming from SE.
Nobody in the market for a smartphone should be hanging around (potentially forever) for the Idou, without very seriously looking at what's already available elsewhere.

Jees, just read your pathetic attempt to protect the iPhone and try to make it sound like your total blind loyalty is justified. I don't need to reply to you because you yourself in one post has confirmed everything I said and also stated just how very bad Apple and the iPhone really are.
It's taken 2 flipping years for Apple to add cut and past yet to you it's not a problem and you then go and state that we will have to wait forever for the Idou!!! Oh the utter blind hypocrisy is plain laughable.
Please don't reply as it's not fair on this thread as said and I will say no more on the matter.
But before you go and give advice you MUST give all the FACTS both bad and wrong instead of shoving the Jesus phone down peoples throats.
