I set the same thing up in Outlook 2003. That worked OK.
wINDOWS LIVE are saying there is no fault there end cos it works ok on outlook.

I guess the only work around is to use your Gmail SMTP server instead of Windows Live. You should still use your Windows Live email address, but you will need to use your Gmail logon details when setting up SMTP.
I've just tried it and it works OK. Other than that, I don't know what else you can do.

Yeh thats what im doing.
I rang Sony ericson they say that the phone is faulty and to send to them but its still under 28day from carphone warehouse they have already replaced it once because of the email issue there not going to do it again when they have replaced it again.

Had something alike on my K810 with my local e-mail account in the netherlands.
changed smtp for outgoing server to pop and had my outgoing mail working (although it should have been smtp according to the provider).
No clue if it's going to help but easy to try....
