I bought my phone last weekend from a dealer in Dubai. My software version R1BB041 version date 06/10/2009.
The biggest bug that so far I have identified is random phone restart when connecting to Wifi. Wifi time out is very frequent as well (I'm unable to use fring because of this reason). Sometime phone freezes after launching 5-6 apps.
Today I checked for any firmware update but my firmware seems to be the latest.

Sammi - seems like you are the only one i heard that got a wifi issue as many as 5 to 6 times /day. why not tell us your access point/router model and manufacturer and lets see if otehr have the same combination.
Mine is OK. I am using Netgear Wireless Router.

That's true!!! Mine has this problem too!!!

And it's impossible to upgrade with OTA becoude option "check update" doesn't exist!!!

if firmware update includes languages, my phone better be able to read foreign characters (ie. when I put in chinese songs, the words show up only as boxes). If the SE phones released this year can't read chinese characters but ipod can...something is VERY wrong, they're practically begging to be considered lesser entities than their highest competition.

When updates are available for the Satio, will the phone be completely wiped like the rest of SE phones, or will it just update certain parts of the firmware?

I'm just wondering what happens to paid-for apps etc., will they have to be reinstalled?

Cheers

If its anything like the Symbian software on the N97 then it wont wipe anything that is already on the handset, and by that I am talking about stored contacts, downloaded themes etc but I dont have any specific knowledge with the stored applications... However I shouldnt imagine that it would be able to leave the contacts and downloaded themes but delete all the apps on the handset...

hope this helps!
