Thanks Decoy,
I was just curious how it worked because I always met guys down the pub who had 'chipped' phones that could send endless free text messages and i always wondered how.(this was years before BT's Genie servicecame out)
I didnt really expect that it would work on a T68 because all the phones that were chipped were crap, i was just hoping!

no problem, btw if it was only free sms and no free calls they may have had a Message centre number that enabled them to send free sms.
these were available a few years ago, not sure if they're still around but i heard the UK service providers got wind of this and clamped down.

You aren't talking of *#746025625# because that did not give free calls!!! It just said sim clock stop allowed. It doesn't transmit any info to your service provider, and do you realy think any network would be soooooo stupid to let people use it???
