The X10 will have support for Bluetooth file transfer. Android 1.6 does not support this, so this particular feature will be developed and implemented by Sony Ericsson.

I am afraid that this means the X10 WON'T be shipped with Eclair. Anyone shares my opinion?

Regarding BT file transfer I don’t really know the details around android versions and support for it, I’ve heard the same as you though.
However – my X10 here can sure send e.g. photos over bluetooth, just tried it to my PC here minutes ago. So I guess we’ve added it on top of Android if Android 1.6 don’t support it.

The X10 white paper states this:
BluetoothTM profiles supported:
Advanced Audio Distribution Profile,
Audio/Video Remote Control Profile,
Generic Access Profile,
Generic Object Exchange Profile,
Handsfree Profile,
Headset Profile,
Object Push Profile

I think I am going to pass on the X10 until it is supplied with Android 2.
It is sad but I no longer have any faith in
and their ability to develop SW, I am not an
hater or a flamer as some suggest. But a once satisfied customer who has owned a T681 a T610 all the P series and all the Symbian W series.
My point is I am simply no longer prepared to keep playing with my phones until I get it right! Sony Ericsson need to wake up to the fact that iPhone customers do not have to go through this nonsense when they buy their phones (And I was one of the biggest critics of Apple on the planet!)
The smart phone market has matured and the game has moved on, so Sony Ericsson YOU need to start listening to your customers and start getting your products right first time, or simply you will not be around to make too many more mistakes

Please, IPhone isn't exactly the best example of "do not have to go through this nonsense" stuff. How long did it take to release simple features such as MMS and cut&paste ? And how about BT ? Does it support any other profiles than headset yet ?
Just face it, as long as you don't make your own phone, you will always have to put up with whatever crap the manufacturers are stuffing up your nose. Sad, but true if you ask me.
