Sorry, Just tried the standby and media player. Does not work.

As larry_68 said, only certain screens work. I too get top bar only for standby with se standby theme. Cannot even get the menu. or applications screen. Only Certain screens work.

Did you uninstall/delete via Settings -> Program manager -> Installed programs? There you should just highlight what you want to uninstall. And click Options to unistall.
Restarted your phone?
