Im puzzled about why you'd want to copy 2000 images to your phone.
What are you intending to use your Satio as ? a digital photo frame ?? i can understand people wanting to transfer pictures from an old phone to a new one, but why so many. Do you not have a computer to back them up onto ?
because I have a 16Gb microSD, and 16Gb microSD usually is used to manage big quantity of media files.

Yeah i get it, but why do you want so many pictures on your phone ? when will you ever have time to view them all !?
I have 700 stored on my old N95 8gb, which is cool, but not strictly necessary to me. What makes it necessary to you ?

Everybodys different, some people just like to have every photo on a mobile phone until they fill the memory...
And this is the point of a smartphone - it should definitely give you the opportunity to put as many pictures, music
and videos as you like, the only limitation should be memory capacity, like that is already done when shooting videos
on Satio (you are only limited by free memory if I am not mistaken)

2000 photos? that's insane? my N95 8G was having a hard time transferring a hundred photo to my pc...but 2000? really?
Perhaps you may want to use a card reader to transfer all that 2000 photos to your memory card and not directly on Satio.

the problem is that you need to share the 3000 with
photos, images, videos and audios.
Try to think...
Only the Sygic (GPS Navigator) uses about 100 images, this images needs to be subtracted from your 3000 media files.
This is clear that 3000 files is nothing also for a "normal" user that uses a smartphone as a smart phone.

One should do an experiment. if anyone of you knew someone who own..say an N97, and let him copy 2000 photos into his device. if the process went smoothly then you can conclude that there was a bug in Satio.

please read the first page, one of my post there is an answer to SE to this problem.
if you have a Satio, and you care that this problem will be solved,
write to
seanswers.us@support.sonyericsson.com
and ask them to fix this problem.[ This Message was edited by: sblantipodi on 2009-11-25 23:57 ]

I got a K750 in Feb 2006, and started backing up all photos to PC in month-by-month folders, whilst copying them back onto the memory card at 50% resolution (to reduce file sizes on the memory card). I then got a K850 in November 2007 and transferred all the resized k750 photos to the new memory card and carried on the process. I did the same thing in November 2008 when I got the c905, and the same thing this year when I got the Satio.
Whilst I take around 4-5GB of photo's a year at full size, the resized photos on the memory card from 2006 to present day only take up 1.9GB. They're a great way to remember days-gone-by whilst on the move, as well as serving as a form of backup. I guess I don't really need them all on there, but I have a poor memory, and it's nice to see at a glance where we went on holiday in 2007, or what we did for so-and-so's birthday in 2008 for example!
I noticed last year the c905's Media application had problems with the sheer number of photos on the memory card, but the File Manager application would display thumbnails and happily browse through all photos in a folder so I didn't worry about it, and just ignored the Media application. However, with the Satio, not only does the File Manager fail to display thumbnails, you can only open images in a folder one-by-one with no way of scrolling through any other images. I've therefore had to revert to using the Media app instead, and delete everything except the last 5 month's worth of photos in order to keep the application running smoothly.
So no, I don't really need that many photos on there, I just do so because I can! (or could...)

It could just be a case of like most S60 smartphones, where if you add too manynew media files at once it can take the OS several minutes or longer to create the thumbnails, giving the impression that they're not there or cannot show.
Ive done it before with my S60 handsets. Transfer the images, exit the gallery / media app and leave the phone in standby. Check it after 10 minutes when the phone has done processing the thumbnails and they usually appear.
