Listen up people. I have an O2 Online PAYG simcard and have had access to both MMS and GPRS -> AT THE SAME TIME since last December.

I had both working too... in payandgo. Now I got a contract.
I was told I can't have MMS and full WEB ( not WAP, ) access together.
I use a Tungsten-T so MMS was removed for the same reasons most people have. Don't know anyone who uses it! lol!!
So now, I use WAP and WEB on my T-T but no MMS.

I am on O2 monthly and spoke to them again yesterday afternoon and they say that you can not have both GPRS and MMS. To be honest i think i have just about given up with them. Nobody there seems know what they are doing there. Considering moving number over to Orange. If anybody has got GPRS and MMS on O2 monthly can they say how they managed it?

Ofiach, have you tried
http://nowmms.com ?
Since that service only makes use of a GPRS connection you should still be able to send MMS. Plus, since you are only being charged for the data it should cost significantly less than the 40p that O2 want for their MMS service.
Plus, O2 shouldn't be able to tell that you are sending an MMS because you will be using the NowMMS MMSC (MMS message server).
I can't confirm that this will definitely work as I won't be able to tell until AFTER the free MMS trial period from O2 finishes this saturday.
Also, if you didn't know the NowMMS service itself is free

Yeah I'm considering leaving O2. The fact that you cannot have GPRS and MMS at the same time is absolute madness.
I thought that MMS messages were sent using GPRS? MMS was supposed to be the driver to get the masses to start using data services. It would also provide more revenue for O2.
O2 have also done a really uninspiring job launching MMS - Vodafone's Live service has been marketed in a much better way. I am thinking of changing.

Thanks bigjobs. Right, everything seems to be working ok.... more or less. I've tried sending an MMS to my Virgin SIM in my spare 8310 (Sorry, I know its a Finnish phone but I found it in the street.... HONEST!!). It all goes smooth until part way through sending it comes up on screen as "User Barred". Is this because Virgin doesn't support MMS and the 8310 is not an MMS compatible phone?
Thanks in advance

It comes up with user barred because either your settings are wrong or 02 Havent fully activated the Mms part on your account, despite having just activated GPRS for you. Wait a little bit longer max half a day. Plus when you do get it working your 8310 will only receive a text message containing a url to view the Mms via the web.
