That's different! I actually expected a complaint in here for the decision to change. The K800i was when SE was on top of their game.

Don't buy the N78! As others have suggested the N86 is your best value for the dollar right now if you prefer candybar style phones.
Personally I really loved the E71 as it suited by needs better last year. For now ~ although I still love Symbian ~ I would not touch S60 at all!!
You do know that Symbian ~ core components, PIM, and UI ~ is undergoing a major overhaul right? I'd seriously wait a little longer, save your money and wait at least until May2009. No matter how much you tweak S60 3rd Edition (FP1/FP2)/5th Edition ... you'll still have that inbound calls issue where the name does not match the number even if its saved on your address book!
Stick with OSE for now, trade up to a better OSE. If you really don't NEED the power of S60 & said apps, then it'll just be a costly fad. You like to tweak apps, wait until February and get Rachel.
