Ok, regarding the browser... I'm not sure if it'll be sold by Opera... or offered by SE as a free upgrade. For the price of the P800, we should get it free... besides, I know Symbian is supposed to include Opera BY DEFAULT on ALL Symbian OS machines... including UIQ and Series 60. So we'll wait and see...

Now, the current browser of the P800 is...OK. That's all it is. I'm glad SE didn't wait for Opera to finish the browser (which is still under development, but I feel it's gonna be worth the wait) ... before releasing the P800...otherwise we'd still be waiting for the P800!

Greetings!

Regarding the battery life time, I must say I have the t68i and set the Normal Profile with Backlight Off. This has increased the battery life for me. It lasts about 5 days, max...

I was wondering if the P800 has the possibility of setting the backlight OFF?

Thanx in advance.

rox!

Of course... the P800 with backlight off, and power save on would dramatically increase your battery life.

The backlight actually drains a LOT of power. More than everything short of making a call!

Power save does help a lot. Even though mine is set to kick in after 30 min, it helps since when I sleep... the phone's screen 'sleeps' as well... and this puts very minimal drain on the phone at night!

I must say that i'm very little dissapointed after a couple of weeks use. Almost everthing works great and with very little hassle.

My major problems with the P800
* screensaver & keylock: you need to wake up the screensaver and then press 'ok' & '*' to unlock. That's 3 keys to press when the screensaver is on 2 when it's not active.
If you don't have time to press 3 times, you can just press JogDial in (wakes up the screen) and *.

I only do 2 key presses to unlock my p8, 1 jog click + starkey, same amount as t68.
What i really like is when the flip is on, you can open the flip & use functions then close the flip & the phone stays locked to slip it quickly back into your pocket, but it doesn`t work in virtual flip mode obviously because screen can`t be live.
The main thing i hate is the slippery finish, why not have that t68m style black grippy finish where the blue bits are.

@patchy: if the screen is off (power save mode) you still need to push the jog dial 2 times, once for it to 'wake up' and and then you can do the unlock sequence. Like I sate, I hardly look at the device before unlocking, so the state in wich it is in is unsure, so I have to press 1 or 2 times...

@fang: sending stuff from the phone to the Apple computer via bluetooth generally works (contacts/appointments/files).

sending from the computer to the phone has problems (I have seen some 'frame error' or so).

IR is not really an option with iBooks, so a bluetooth USB dongle should do the trick.

SonyEricsson has to work a lot of things out before iSync will work I guess.
