I saw the HTC hero for the first time ever today
I just dont think you can get better than the touchscreen on the iPhone 3GS, you barely even have to touch it The nokia 5800 xpress music was terrible compared to it

How can the touch screen be a novelty on the Samsung phones? A touch screen is a touch screen whatever phone it is. Don't quite get that comment. Samsung seems better at touch screens than Nokia.

Well all the reviews i have read/watched have said the samsung tocco touchscreen is mostly unresponsive and doesnt support multitouch. When u compare it to the level of touchscreen the smartphones have, its not in the same league. The tocco is a standard slider, with basic touchscreen capabilities added on... imo

Maybe novelty was the wrong choice of word

Yeah i agree the 3GS has one of the best touchscreens ive tried. Unfortunatley... thats waaaaaaaay out of my price range. How does the Hero compare in your opinion? miles behind the 3GS? or just not quite as good?

I was asking myself the same question today - but i just dont know anything about these phones, i only used them both for a few minutes (protective owners ) there's lots of controversy over which is better.

I haven't researched opinions/reviews/specs of them both - they are both way out of my price range and not what im looking for in a phone atm, my advice is to spend quite a lot of time researching to make the right choice. I spent about 3 months from the point of wanting a good camera phone to actually getting it - starting from wanting K850i and ending up looking into the C range to choose C901, at the start i really wanted k850i which everyone says is rubbish now

My advice is to read lots of reviews and not the ones that just state the specs and waffle about how good it is without picking it apart if I would get one of these phones i would get it second hand of a friend who doesnt know much about the cost of mobiles - much cheaper than online like when i got a K800i for £3.00

Ok fair enough
Yeah thanks for the advice, i intend to do my research. I have time until my next pay cheque anyway Dont want to spend that much money and regret it 2 months after

Well i wanted a new 1, possibly an unwanted upgrade or something. Will have to check again, but i think lightly used Hero's were going for the price range im after! LOL £3.00??? why wud u do that to your "friend"? guess its his/her own fault for not researching their phone value hehe

ok, just started looking at the jet. Gonna watch a few video reviews about it
Am i correct in thinking that you cant do multitouch with a resistive screen? I think its a handy feature to have, when resizing text ur viewing in the web browser.

If you can stretch your budget a bit more then I suggest you get an HTC HD2 Leo but if not then the next best thing for me is either the HTC Hero or the iPhone. I think Hero goes about $460 at timtechs. You simply can't go wrong with any of these anyway

I think the HD2 is a touch out of my budget. £350+ is too much to drop on a phone imo... im still a student

I think the HTC Hero is looking like my best option. Thanks for your input
