@deyaniralastrega that's not true... the P1i was symbian with smileys and animation ... it was my last phone before switching to Satio...

P1 (as p800, p900,p910 and so on) was UIQ, not s60.
satio is tipical symbian, is s60.

So finally we have a equalizer for satio! There is no manual eq but megabass works like a charm now they just need to add a search option on media player and fix the t9 bug

UIQ runs on top of Symbian.. just like S60 does... get your facts straight. they are both Symbian.. smileys and animation is just software.. anything can be done in software

it is obvious that symbian s60 and symbian uiq are both symbian, but they are different!
symbian s60 has never had the smiles.
from the beginning with the Nokia 7650, so far with the various samsung hd, satio, nokia x6, n97 etc. ...
s60 symbian^1 s60 platform does not and has never had the smiles. they will be implement perhaps on symbian ^ 3 or symbian^4.
Meanwhile if you want them, install a software, as always has been done for 10 years now.

Basically everything suggested in the previous round still applies

personally i would accept the phone if

It opens up to take apps from symbian apps stores.
So no more helloOx or whatever.

Better camera control

Able to upgrade to Symbian ^3!!!!!
This is most important as the phone will still be a decent camera phone contender by the time N98 is out!!! One year old still solider on well against Nokia's latest.

Anyway, N98 leaked pics suggest it has a 12 mpx camera with xenon!!!

It is protential replacement of the Satio if OS and apps is good enough...

So.. Sony has roughly 8 months to work on the software.

It's sad, but reading between the lines, it almost seems that what you all really want is an I***ne

Is it true that Satio is not upgradeable to Symbian^3 due to the use of resistive touch-screen? I read this somewhere but not sure of what this claim is based on.

I thought S3 support multitouch that includes resistive screen
No Symbian OS before "can" ever upgrade!

Jackau,

If base on your theory then nokia shouldnt release any new phone? just simply apply the new OS to their old phone and fix everything else and keep doing that?

Im sure SE will do their best to support their release handsets, just give them time yet we all hope the best that they could put on the next firmware but that's not how business work

just my two cents.. i could be wrong
