They're pointless when it has a 3.5mm jack, using the fastport instead is just a waste.

I never said anything about using Apple earphones specifically; I merely mentioned them as an example. I never asked for anybody's opinion on the quality of Apple earphones and, quite frankly, couldn't give a damn.
