I don't think anybody in their right mind would consider Satio to be the better phone when compared to the N8. Given that Satio is about seven months in the market it is understandable that the N8 is the better phone here.
Also agree that both companies do produce good and bad camera phone at times but to say the N85 produces pictures equal to Satio in quality is stretching the truth.
If SE takes the Satio and improves the design, make it metallic, better cam module, HD recording, HDMI port with the standard one unlike the N8's, capacitive screen, obviously S^3 though I would prefer it with Android and add WIMAX then it would be a lovely phone.
Let's see if SE is up to the task.

I'll wait for something by Sony Ericsson,as always...
Well, just because Nokia put mini hdmi port now this is indispensable? How about DLNA and no wires?
And why use metal body instead carbon fiber or another strong material?
I wouldn't bet my money on something that has not even been reviewed...
Principally made by Nokia.
N8 comes to be a good option, and just this.
Nothing new to the world, outside and inside it.

3.5mm jack or not, thats not the problem nor is 7 month after Satio hit the streets...
Hardware wise, the chipset is almost the same, mere 80Mhz difference is like going on 133 mhz to 166 mhz FSB giving 2.0 GHZ and 2.1 GHZ
The basic hardware that runs the software between Satio and N8 is really not much different even after 7 + months!
The big issue here is the OS!
Symbian is now OPEN source, open source like Android where apps are really cross platform, HTC / Samsung / Moto can run the same bloody app.
But this is not yet the case for Symbian camp, with out hacking, Nokia apps can't be run cross platform.
Still Few third party apps officially support Satio...
WE should be allow to use Nokia apps on our open source symbian phone.
WE should be able to load a version of SE's Symbian ^3 OS on the Satio.
In fact, all they need is to throw ^3 in Satio and add HD function plus improve camera control to compete with N8!
The K800, the most successful camera phone ever (and in its mega pixel class) continues to sell well after a year of its launch. Same goes with the N95, or even the buggy N73, this clearly meant there is life long after 12 months. Satio is not a fail product hardware wise, Software draged it down, fix the software, it will be a great smart camera phone!

It was promised that the Satio will be between first Open Souce symbians... So i expect an OS upgrade, but i doubt SE will let us have it. There is so much juice left in the Satio, and SE is not using it :/
The Satio microphone is a big piece of crap.. nothing compared to C905.. (video recording). Not to mention the media player... total failure (well if not total, major).
So i wait for a proper OS upgrade.

SE will never upgrade the OS..........never. They will launch another device to compete, that is simply how it is done. The Satio is done and dusted, there will be very few updates if any for satio going forward. They have left it with shortcomings but if their next device addresses these then an upgrade will be the only path, if the satio was perfect there would be no need for an upgrade path and SE business would stall, the bugs have been ironed out the device is now stable.

i would be very shocked i if the satio has no further updates . Its only had 2 and the 1st only happened because retailers pulled it. Whats the normal amount of upgrades with se ? Totally agree that we will of never see the new os . It makes no financial sense. Have to say this is the 1st nokia ive liked and thats probably because it doesnt look like one lol
