I've got both and there's no doubt the X10 mini is superior, both in terms of features and speed.

I am not the sort of person who runs many apps at all. I actually hardly use apps. But compared to the Mini it is not as responsive to me at all. I tried updating no update yet but also I find that sometimes when entering into main menu the icons tends to jerk a little. It is not as smooth as the Mini at which for me is a shame cos it's anice little model the X8 although I still have it

i have both phones also and i didn't mean any offense but IMHO x8 is better, there is indeed no updates (hoping 2.1 will be soon
).performance wise x8 has some lags but they are few and far between at least on my phone and they don't ruin the experience at all.the mini is great phone but too small for my hands ;D.
by the way have you checked the 2.1 discussion on xda it's getting crazy over there last time i checked it was 215+ pages,it's really funny and exciting.

Besides, the camera, there's really only the keypad on the X10 mini which is a lot better than the keyboard on the X8. And the speed of course. X10 mini is considerably faster.

I may be wrong but I think X8 does not have proximity and light sensors. Can someone who has the phone confirm this? This can be checked with an app called "Android Hardware Info" from the market

As small as the X10 Mini is i never had no problems using it which shows they did well with it. I just had too many problems with the Mini with constant reboots and terrible battery life going from 70% to 3% in one hour on standby
Shame cos i loved the phone. I had replacements and did update to no avail. And as i said i do not ever run more than 2 apps at once me. I am not the sort to run ten at once. X8 has had no major issues as yet but still is laggy imo

70% to 3% on your mini on standby? WTF
I'm sure this is just isolated because mine doesn't do that

Yep with no running apps in standby no bull. I could write a book on problems I have had with mobile phones
It was in about an hour or so whilst on holiday I was dumbstruck
