The only compatibity issue one might have is that if your phone doesn't support wallpaper midlet/application then you will not be able set the application as a wallpaper but it should still install ...
All from Jp 7 started supporting wallpaper midlet/application

This K790 is JP-7.7. I'm able to set applications as wallpaper. Menu, settings, wallpaper and once I'm in there there's an option for Application. When I select that option it tells me: Empty folder.
