I am beginning to understand its appeal which though, has nothing to do with the limited effects it offers as compared to other more comprehensive apps. It readily has a big pool of users which makes interaction and sharing quite fun

Insanely popular photo app and social network Instagram has been acquired by Facebook for approximately $1 billion in a combination of cash and shares. The service will remain running for now, as CEO Kevin Systrom says that it is “not going away.”

Tranced, nice photos. The photo of the plant, I know that plant we have it over here. I think it is green with yellow flowers. I actually just removed some from my yard this morning.
I am also not getting what the big deal with instagram is either. I have downloaded it and just really now too impressed.

It's called Cardo Santo.

The hype about Instagram seems to fall down after this news.

BRILLIANT shots.
As I use 2 different - amazing - apps for photo edit, I want to ask:
1. Does this app retain original photo size?
2, Does it have more effects than PicsSayPro or CameraMX?

Dom, you get fairly large sizes 1500 x 1500 from Instagram, but you also get to keep the originals from the cam at the same time, which is handy.
You only get the stock 17 or so filters, no effects other than that.
The beauty with Instagram is it's simplicity.

I'm staying with the best app IMO.
Magix CameraMX. Great effects and retains full pic resolution.
I get amazing effects out of it.
