No hiding behind a theme this month. You only have to make your best possible photo.

I love old tombstones in graveyards.

It's around the city centre of Birmingham with a grass area and some old graves. People sit on the grass in summer during their lunch breaks from offices. Not sit on graves though. St. Phillips cathedral

I'm trying to get a nice shot involving water and my new Xperia Z. Just working out my composition. Really nice to see an open theme. It'd be nice to see it more often, alas, if I ever win this competition...

Ok, here's my first shot (I may change it up later in the month).

I used some of those toy magnetic balls things to make a pentagonal spinning top and shined a couple of old Sonys upon it to get some colour.

I set the old Sonys to service test > display test > red and blue to get the base colours and there was a bit of light from the window to give the silver highlights.

This took about 10 spin attempts and 200 shots (mostly in burst mode) to get to this stage. I was getting bored after this and couldn't be bothered to get the 'perfect' shot.

Nice shot. I have decided to change mine. I caught a shot I liked today. The sun was starting to break through(finally) & flowers were blooming,it was spring time, warmer and I caught a flower close up with the city cathedral blurred in the background
