I see you point, but it could be a combination of the jog-dial and the internet button or camera button. Or maybe the on-off button...

Couldn't they design it such that when the screensaver kicks in, the virtual keypad auto-hides ... very much like how the task bar works for windows? And when u need to unlock, touch the screen again and the virtual keypad reappears?

@concatinate, your last sentance is the contradiction that i`m pointing out, with the screen "locked" touching the screen by definition should have no effect, because it`s supposed to be locked isn`t it

Hi @Patchy

I believe he meant when u wanna unlock u still need to tap the screen and they will prompt u to write the password

This is do-able

Just enable device lock. Under Power>>setting you can lock your device including the key immediately with full screen wallpaper of even screen saver.

When you lock the T68i for example if you press a key it still comes up with a message box saying 'Press C to unlock', so there is no reason why the P800 can't do it.

I tried the device lock, but I got tired of writing the password everytime I wanted to take a look at my calendar.
I think SE just forgot to put this feature in, maybe in the next UIQ release.
Who knows, they might even put a clock on the sceensaver this time...

Jepaz, the screen saver is always full. However have you noticed that:-
a. When the flip is closed, it blocks the full screensaver
b. When the flip is removed and virtual flip is enabled, the virtual flip blocks the screensaver when it is activated
My point is that we would want the FULL screensaver to be always displayed when activated and not for it to be blocked by either the flip or virtual flip ..
Currently the only way to do this is to activate the screensaver lock .. but that is inconvenient as:-
a) to activate screensaver lock, it takes 3 key strokes instead of 2 for the normal keylock
b) to unlock, you need to key in a min. 4 digit password each time
