billk2 - you can sign up to both MMS and mobile web (i.e. GPRS WAP) simultaneously on O2 without problem - one of my contracts has em, and both work fine - the issue is that you can only have 2 APN's currently, due to billing problems. Thus you cannot have MMS AND mobile web (GPRS WAP) AND GPRS (internet).

If you actually mean GPRS (i.e. internet access, not WAP) rather than mobile web, which is the GPRS WAP service, then again - you can have both. You then just wouldn't be able to use GPRS WAP if you had the other two active.

Most people try to get both GPRS WAP and GPRS APN's activated and forget about MMS - you can use the GPRS WAP or CSD to use nowMMS instead at a much lower rate than O2's MMS service, so you're better off without!

I would ignore that site if i was you. That guy has absolutely no idea what he is talking about, and got absolutely slagged down when he posted his experience on uk.telecom.mobile. For example he states that the Orange customer service number is not free, and he's spent £100 calling them. One problem with that, Orange customer care has always been free.

I've been with all the networks, and I have to say Orange is my favourite network. Vodafone is a very close second. As for the other networks, I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

I like that - kinda rounds it up nicely, Orange - Voda - Almost equal, the other 2, not really worth the hastle, and lack of coverage.

I know your choice was between Orange and O2 - go for orange if I where u.

Of course if you don't mind a bit more research and a bit more of a cost up front - get your current phone unlocked, and buy yourself a couple of PAYG sim cards for O2 and Orange - about £15 each on the web - prob cheaper in your local bargain rag, and try them both out for coverage. (not customer service though as I think the customer service for PAYG customers is poorer than it is for contract customers)

I got an Everyday 50 which gives me 50 free off-peak mins every day,i think this is what you mean when Orange used to be good,(they stopped this plan last october). Coverage is the best in the uk(they say 99%).btw,you never mentioned Virgin mobile,why? This message was posted from a T68i

I never mentioned Virgin, as they are just one of the piggyback companies, from what I understand it is just the T-mob service under a different name.

And from what I have seen - I would beleive it, they have just as low a standard of coverage as T-mob.

When they got rid of Everyday50 - where u allowed to keep it till the end of the 12 months, or can you stick on that tarrif for as long as you want?

Probably because it still use the t-mobile network and the fact you can't get the P800 on it. Even when/if they do provide it, you might as well just buy a sim free P800 - it'll cost the same.

O R A N G E
(there are`nt any other mobile providers in the UK, theres a couple of fraud type companies o2, t.mobile, voda.....but they are just stitch up merchants from Romainia i think)
BTW;
I got my p800 2 months ago,
At 4.30 in the morning (2 months before Orange released the p800) i put an Orange sim in it, rang customer services for free & said this; "Hello i`ve bought an import p800 SE phone thats not available in UK & i want the Wap, MMS & internet settings for it"
The answer was this;
OK sir i`ve found them on the computer & i`ve sent them as an SMS auto configurator, thank you for calling,can i help with anything else ?"
And in 5mins the settings were on the phone.

Also you may not know that if you find a tarrif on another network that you like, you can ask Orange & sometimes they will give you that exact deal but on the orange network, it`s called OVP (Orange value promise). if you are with them for a year you can have the "virgin" deal where you continue to be on contract but pay NO line rental.
