@miss uk: older siemens phones (i mean incl. SL45, s45 me45 ) were extremely easy to flash. I have no clue about SW updates and still managed to sucesfully flash few of them ). The only issue would be ur warranty... I'm not sure about that, but flashed once also my friends SL45 to SL45i. Few days later he sent it to service, cause he had some problem with mmc reader and they didn't say a word about loosing warranty. Besides, siemens is oficially offering free home-upgrade soft for flashing me45 so i guess it's allowed.

A SE Service Centre in the UK is in the process of updating the software of my T68i. As the phone is less than one year and and because I have the original receipt they are doing it free of charge. Under other circumstances they quote a price of £15

CPW do SW upgrades for free at any of their express repair centres, of which there are around 40 in the UK, providing the phone is under warranty. You may require proof of purchase if you didn't purchase the phone from them. They are also accredited SE service centres.

For a Siemens SW upgrade, you need to go directly to Siemens, also free within warranty, though the flickering on the screen is a common problem with earlier Siemens phones too.

Hope this helps.
