er... with regards to the comment about running your battery flat before charging it, I don't think you should be doing that since the P800 uses a Li-ion battery and AFAIK you should never completely run down a li-ion battery because it will shorten the life of the battery, in fact you should top it off as often as possible.

No, that isn't true. The only thing that will wear out a li-polymer battery is constantly re-charging it - they only have a life time of ~500 charges.

@dazbradbury - No, Lithium based batteries do not have the memory effect... but they do have a 'cycle life' which means that the battery has an approximate number of recharge cycles it can handle before it 'dies'. Topping off your charge after only 1/4 has been drained is counted as 1 charge cycle...so to maximize your lithium battery, it's best to wait til there's about 1/8 charge left before recharging.
*important note though, do
NOT completely discharge lithium batteries. Doing so drastically shortens the battery's over-all life cycle.

Surely if the Sync station is there to be used whilst you are at your PC then if the phone constantly charges then the number of cycles is irrelevant?

when the phone is in sync station the power going into the phone is only that powerfull of checking if the P800 is still connect and when u transfer a file from P800 to pc the P800 is the one sending power not the comp and even when the comp is sending data to P800 the P800 cant store it in battery it only brakes it down into infomation only when u plug the charger (supplied) into the sync station will the P800 be chargeing when its connected
and topping up your battery as u go on is not a good idea it will shorten its life, the same thing will happen if it gets to hot (left in sun light) or if it gets to cold (left by a window at night unless u got triple glazing lol)
also letting the battery go empty empty (no thats not a typo) is ok the battery is a rechargeable one and is built to be empty then recharged not to be recharged then left for a hour and charged again because one battery bar has gone, and the battery is only good for about +/-500. depending on use u may get more charges or less

secondly id like to say the it is more than likely that the p800 CAN do nightvision.
i say this because it is available on my Nr70 and Nx70 (pda's). even when sony told me it was impossible a third party developer called ej released it. now i can walk around with my tv remote in the dark and use it as a torch....................if i really wanted to.
