I donīt get it...
Are all SE fans brainwashed or something? How the hell can you accept buying Beta, no Alpha stuff and patiently await one bloody update after another just to get the basic features working??
Nokias problem seems to be quality control, but at least in the Nokia s i have owned the bloody basics worked!
I think the whole industry is going downhill, with the pressure of pumping out new models all the time quality suffers.
My GH868 worked flawlessly for two years, no updates repairs or nothing, as did my 6210. I doubt that any current phone will do that..
My S55 is working good so far anyway though the adress book have crashed once, so no, it isnīt perfect either.
I think that the only way to get decent working stuff is by not accepting or putting up with crap! Just return the faulty unit and refuse to "just wait for the next crappy update that cures three bugs and adds four new ones"
*Iīm pissed, did you notice?*

I am totally understand u, I had this phone for more than a month and i couldn't get used it, Both virtual and plastic keypads are so bad that writing SMS can be a real pain, This device is very poor phone almost immposible to use it as a phone, i already wrote that those add-on keypad are worthless, when i left them at home i couldn't do even a simple job like a call or writing a SMS, as a PDA this device is USELESS, maybe it has a touch screen but it doesn't make it PDA, the OS is nice, but it's defenetly not PPC2002, most of the applications are rubish.
As soon as i realized it i sold it for the firts person i found, now i am using my IPAQ 5450 + T68I or i just take my 7650 without the IPAQ.
I am still looking forward to anothere series 60 sevices (without touch scrren) maybe the siemens SX1 will be the right answer.
And for all the SE admires, don't take it personal i still love SE (T68I is a great devices) i just think that P800 is much less than people think about it, it isn't a phone and isn't a PDA, so what the hell is it?

The iPAQ 3800 series was very unstable & using bluetooth used to lock-up the machine until a new firmware upgrade came out. As users of high tech gadgets wanting the latest gear there will always be a level of Alpha/Beta type testing.

Considering the sophistication of the P800 with a new OS I think it is very stable (lot more so than the iPAQ 3870 & 3970 I recently sold).

Only things I really miss with my iPAQ is my 256MB SD memory & the brilliant 65K screen on the iPAQ3970.

Why not drive around in a vw beetle?
Now that's a car with few flaws...
And do you know why nothing goes wrong on this car?
Because there's nothing that can go wrong!
It doesn't even have inside heaters. Basically you'll freeze on your way to work in a rather uncomfortable way. But hey!
It works!

I can't stand it when people say that old phones are best. They aren't!
They suck. They have one virtue.. simplicity. And with simplicity comes unusability. Except for those people who sees there phone as something to "call and write sms".
I don't know what you guys are doing buying p800.
Go back to those old nokia 5110s and start using dos instead of windows again.

I am glad that someone has had the balls to say it, I said it and got called names cos I 'god forbid' said something bad about the P800! It is by far perfect and with a phone/machine, whateverthehellitis, that costs that price one should not have to wait for a firmware update or whatever. It is just unacceptable!

I agree that it is far from perfect but it is the closest thing to phone size Phone/PDA combo yet and is suprisingly good for a first issue.

I read for months about the problems/limitations but still thought it was worth the risk to buy now as even with these it is still excellent.

I'm hoping for firmware upgrades but I am happy with the existing firmware & the P800 does all I need at the moment (well it will do when I can get a 128MB DUO to put plenty of mp3's on).

I don't care who makes the thing and am sure better units will come out in the future. The BIG purchasing points for me are Symbian OS & a colour touch screen with excellent handwritting recognition (didn't like the Pocket PC OS).

Then.. Why do you still have it?
almost all the phones I've had before had profiles. And I've never once used it. Except on the nokia I had as you needed profiles to shut it up. Whereas all the ericssons and siemens had a silent mode button.

I've never once used sms delivery report.

And I can live with a couple of crashes per week.

None of this apparently holds true for you who obviously can not live without profiles or sms delivery reports.. Nothing wrong with that. Different opinions and needs.. But please stop saying it is a bad phone just because a couple of features is missing. It may be bad for you but they've added SO many features and although it is stupid not to include sms delivery reports or profiles it alone doesn't make it a crappy phone.

Just like a t200 may not be a bad phone just because it lacks mp3 playing ability or video playback.
Like I said. That phone is for those who likes to "call and send sms".
Stop whining. Get a phone that has sms delivery report. But know that you'll be missing out on an enormous amount of features. What other phone can play an authentic version of doom(except for the music)?

Not again.. Do a search. It has been discussed over and over again. But in my opinion you should compare the 3650 against the p800 as the 7650 only has 4mb of memory which can't be expanded and thus can't do all that much(like mp3s and videos).
