omar,
As I said, it's programmable. If you turn off the checkbox while the flip is open, it will no longer go into speakerphone mode when you open the flip and remains in regular mic mode.

@ oferlaor, the point is that the phone was designed to go into speaker mode automatically once the flip is opened, which is the point I made and you said I was wrong about. What to do when and if it doesn't is another matter. Cool_One's complaint was that when he opened the flip the speakerphone wasn't activated automatically like it should. I suppose it's one of the quirks/bugs of the P800.
Regards

My friends and I have never had any problems with the speakerphone of our P800s. I use mine all the time in the car, if I forget my HBH-30, or when it's charging in the cradle beside my PC. The other party can't usually tell I'm on the speakerphone unless it's really noisy, or other people in the room talk to them as well.

I've used speaker phone on a few occassions and it works fairly well.. Opening the flip turns on speakerphone every time.
Someone said something about an echo.. In my experience this has happened on every phone I've had(r320s , t65 , 3510 , t68i , s55 and my p800).
And it seems to be random when it happens and has nothing to do with speaker phone directly as the only phones with speakephone is s55 and p800...

Works nice, those few times I used it, any echo might depend on to high speaker volume.

FYI when the phone is in silent mode and the speakerphone is turned on the person can hear you but you will not hear anything from the speakerphone on the P800. Has to do with the silent feature muting all audio out the external speaker.
