I had the SPV for 3 months before I sold it and took an additional line to get the P800, a choice I have not regretted.
The SPV has its strengths, to be fair to it. The HTML browser runs really well, and GPRS speeds are reasonable. The phone syncronises excellently with a PC (obviously being made by Microsoft helps), and the MP3 player works really well. On top of that, the 65000 colour screen looks impressive and the camera quality is the best I have ever seen on a camera phone.
Having said that, the bad far outweighs the good. The software is slow as hell for even simple things like scrolling through the menus, and writing text messages is painful. You cant really browse the net whilst listening to Mp3s on it either, as the processor cant handle the load and starts to stutter your MP3s. As well as this, the phone is prone to random bizarre bugs like phantom text messages that arent there, and your signal bouncing up and down like a yo-yo. The real killer for me was in realising that I was having to remove the battery and cold-boot it because of some random crash at least twice a day. Now that shouldnt be happening, should it? My P800 has only crashed on me twice since I got it! It wouldnt have been so bad to restart it so often if it didnt take a full 50 SECONDS (I timed it) to boot up!!!
Overall, I was willing to give the SPV a chance, I really was, but in the finish, I just got SO annoyed with it, I was willing to incur the extra cost to myself of having to take out another line I didnt need just to get rid of the bloody thing.
My advice - Dont get it, you WILL be sorry. And before anyone moans, I did have the latest software update for it, and it didnt make a damn bit of difference, it was still crap (in fact, the phantom text message bug never appeared until AFTER I had upgraded the software on it, so it actually made things worse).

I have had the SPV since it was released on Orange. Ok before the software update I did have probs but how I dont have a prob at all. I am happy with this handset, the screen is great web and wap browsing is brill. Games are good (yes ok you can get better ones if you unlocked the phone and re-moved the cert lock, but I dont want my phone for that.) If I did, I would buy the new Nokia gaming phones. Using any wav file for a text or ringing tune is excellent idea.
I think you should get this phone. If you get it as a new connection you get 14 days to return, upgrade direct from orange cust services you get 7 days, so you cant lose.
It does depend on what you use your phone for, but for me, I could not want more at the moment. over all I am Very pleased.

There is no bluetooth support on the SPV is there.After synching with the Bluetooth on the T68 then - I guess it means the way foreward is the P800 , Any other thoughts/considerations?
