I"ve noticed that the default on powersave mode is not on(I think) I went and turned on powersave mode and set it to the minumum allowed of 2mins where it shuts off the LCD..this should increase your battery life dramatically

All of the above suggestions don't really take into account the fact that the phone has only lasted 7 hours. Thats not really very long is it?
I must admit mine gets charged virtually every night by habit, but on some occasions the battery is very low by this point.
There is apparently no consistency to it, sometimes it lasts, sometimes it doesnt although thankfully it lasts 90% of the time.
Live with it for a few more days and restart it every morning if possible... see if it improves.

I noticed that same effect when I had used the Communicam. Apparently it was still running in the background and sucked power like a mutha. So now I always close the app using HandyDay after I used the Cam.

I've gone through 2 phones (one was water damages and AmEx. replaced it free of charge (GO AmEx) ) and have spent considerable time in bothe NY and San Francisco - USA.
Here's the scoop. Battery life is really related to cell tower location and power.
In SF, roaming on Cingular, I get about 3 hours+ of talk time and a couple of hours of GPRS. In Westchestr, NY (i.e. semi rural (read: the burbs) but supposed to be hi tech because of all the corporate HQ's around here IBM, Phillip Morris, etc.), I get about 2 hours of talk and an hour of GPRS. Same bars on the signal meter. Standby is similar. 2-3 days in SF, 1-2 in NY area.
My calcs seems to indicate that even signal strength is 4 clicks, the phone may be using more power to get those 4 clicks, therefore the shorened batt. life.
Your mileage may vary,
P.

no network signal no matter how bad can bring a 2 - 3 day lasting phone down to 7 hours
just get a new P800 or a new battery

This question may sound a little funny. Have all those people who are facing this problem, installed AppForge booster? I faced this problem one day and suspected the booster. I may be completely wrong, here. However, I uninstalled it and did not face the problem. After a few days I installed the booster again and faced the problem once more. I again uninstalled it and since then, no problem. May be I will do some controlled testing to come to some conclusion.
Thanks

Always when you buy a product with a rechargable battery you must first use all power untill the batt is flat before charging! This will make your battery last longer. It is also good for the battery too! You should once a month run your batt totally flat and then recharge again!
So Never buy something and when it is half batt level charge it!
It also stats this will most product that come with a rechargable battery in the user manual!

For the P800's Lithium battery, it is not neccessary to discharge the battery completely before charging, as it does not have a memory effect. It can actually shoten the bat's lifespan if you do this.
