Just for the record, although it seldom happens to me .... but...IT DOES HAPPEN...... not really irked about it, it used to happen on my trusty old R380..... then again it was not that frequent....

Hmm I have an intriguing problem with my screen. It appears there is a dust particle fixed to the inside of the touchscreen, and when the backlight is on it is illuminated in bright white. Very annoying... gonna see if i can exchange my phone for a new one.

do you guys have to send your phone to Minnesota and pay shipping, then wait for them to send it back, like thay told me, or are they sending you the rplacement first? if they are, I'd like to know who you are talking to over there. they are being very difficult with me...

who did you deal with to get a new phone?

because this is what they write me:

Please refer to the place of purchase regarding the new unit request. Unfortunately, that option is not available to us. If you are experiencing any problems with the phone, we do have a 1 year manufacturer's warranty which covers the workmanship on all of our products. Unfortunately, we do not have a local service center that I could refer you to. Through our service center, the unit would need to be sent in for repair. Please contact the Sony Ericsson Contact Center at 1-800-374-2776 ; press 1 for English then 1 for Customer Service and Technical Support to speak with one of our representatives directly with regards to the case reference number and service center information.

Try cleaning your p800's screen... this use to happen on my palm. I think your p800 senses some dust and when u push down on the touchscreen, perhaps that dust moves and since it's so fine the p800 automatically thinks its your pen...

I had something very weird happen yesterday. Suddenly the touch-sensitive feature on the screen wouldnt work. Turned if off and on quite a few times and nothing.

Then this morning, whilst i'm on hold for customer services, I thought I'd take the piece off with the orange logo off, as I levered it off, the screen sprang back into life. I have no idea what it is, other than a very small crumb (?) was sitting on the bottom of the screen in the right hand side, pretty much where the edge of the plastic panel was sitting.

Been ok since
