Mike,
Sorry to hear about the run of bad luck....

For me it would be option 2 (almost 1) I love it....have waited for it to come out for over a year and am thoroughly pleased ..... admitedly it could have been better, but to say that I sold my lovely O2 XDA (Microsoft PocketPC PDA/phone) for the p800 and do not regret it has to be saying something...!

I use it regularly sync'd with Outlook 2002, emails, pictures, games (waiting for the 128 duo to arrive!) and general movies/mp3 stuff.

I do hope you solve your problems..

Simon
PS. I wish I had only left school but 20 year in computer consultancy has passed me by so far!!

Best phone I have ever used
definitely No. 1 baby.

A diamond in the rough for some people but not for me, it bombs out occasionally, but I think its beta apps more than the phone itself, not a single setup or sync problem either, Just don't know why so many people have problems.

Oh if you guys are having syncing problems here's a tip don't have more than on or 2 syncing applications running on your pc. They don't work together very happily.

I am a very happy with the p800 had crashing problems but worked out how to fix it and never crashed on me since. Everything works! I think cause I bought mine in australia and they were the last country to sell them and they have the lastest relase phones out. But everything works just fine!

compare it to the 3650 which I must say is a totaly different phone! A stylius is just amazing, once you are use to it it is so fast, you meet someone punch in the details much faster then my girlfriend can on her 3650, no stylius! I have to set everything up on her phone. Internet and contacts mail and it is so hard to do because it has no stylius which means if you jump from the top menu to the bottom you have to hit the button about 9 times!!!!! with the stylius you click once on arrow down and then click on program!! and thats it!

Also the 3650 memory card is under the battery! so if you are taking file from computer to phone always you must turn off the phone and pull the thing!! apart and then copy and put it back together to make it work! The 3650 is a great phone! not a pda!!

P800 is a true pda. However things you must install is filemanger! it make life a little more easier! and full screen pic view is great also.

Also you can use email, sms, call people etc with the filp up and not use stylius just like a phone, but you will find it is much faster with the stylius.

To realy compare it and see how good it is you really need to play with it for a day and then go back to a phone or even a 3650, then you will find of how quick and easy it is to use!

However I am a computer nerd in a way so I can use this phone to is true capabillity. So I think it is great! If you want a phone, buy a phone!

definately a number 1 for me too. i have had some bluetooth problems but who hasnt! fingers crossed that'll be sorted with the next firmware. i will say tho, the lucky ones who have good units seem to be dileriously happy and those who dont seem to be majorly p***ed off... understandably at £500 a peice! i think SE got themselves in a mess with delivery and majorly rushed the production to the disatisfaction of many... shame. they better sort themselves out cos nokia seem to conceive and idea one day and its on the shelves the next!

bad luck mike and i hope u get the working unit u deserve

I Vote for 1.

Both a PDA and a mobile phone are very important to me in my business, and, so far, I've not had any problems. (Touching a large piece of wood at the moment.)
I'm sorry but I know this is of no consolation to you.
I do have a later UK Model software is:
Phone R1D, Bluetooth R2C, Org R1G05, CDA R2A01

I hope you get your problems sorted. I'd start by trying to get hold of the lastest phone and PC Suite software.

Actually I should add that the first one I got my hands on wouldn't even turn on. Carphone warehouse swapped it within 24 hours and I've had no problems since.

I like it so much I even got a sim free one for my other half.

I vote 1. I'm a law student and manage an importing business. got over 600 contacts. my phone is filled with files downloaded via gprs. it bugs down when it runs out of memory but most of the time it kicks ass. have ur unit fixed mike. the p800 works as advertised.
