so when you get the p800 you charge it fully immediately? or do you use it until it dies then recharge? what is a conditional charge?

Sorry yes , he said use it fully until its almost dead, and then charge it for 16 hours, it worked but maybe it was coincidence?

in the P800's usersmanual/guide, it says that you should charge it for 4 hours the first time, and that its ready for usage when the battery meter is at max (100%). I've read that you dont have to condition the Li-Polymer batteries.. but if that isn't the case, its very very bad by SE not to mention that you need to condition the battery the first time in the users manual/guide, cause many people will probably run around with bad conditioned batteries then, and not knowing why...

Li-Polymer DO NOT suffer from a memory effect, so the guy was talking rubbish.

Discharging a Li-Polymer actually does more harm than good. You should never fully discharge the P800 battery if you can avoid it.

Yes, the Li-Poly does not to be conditioned.
I have experienced the same rapid drain once in a while. Sometimes I think the GPRS hangs and this causes the drain. Either that or I am just brain dead and not hitting "end call".
I do think the GPRS hangs, possibly if I have closed the flip and not closed out the built in browser...
Interesting to see what pops up on this thread.

Well the only easy way to find out how much CPU power background applications use would be a CPU-meter.

I had one in my Ericsson MC218 (same as Psion 5 series) by default, I wonder why there isn't one for the P800...

After noticing really bad battery life I did a test this morning.

Bottom line, starting at 100% at 9:45, by 2:45 its at 35%.

...meaning about 7.5 hours of time...and I made (1) five-minute phone call, and played with it about another 5 minutes other than that. It sat by itself most of the time.

This is obviously unacceptable. Any suggestions?
