Mine does that f***ing sound too, I just hate it! It makes the whole p800 kinda unfinished and cheap. Such a expensive phone shouldn't make such a sound.
The t68 and the t610 (pre-release version) I have don't do that.

I am thinking about getting that new memorystick expansion pack for my p800. It looks like it is more ridged (Thicker) Maybe it wont creak.. But then you have to live with the size increase.. oh well

I noticed that on the newest batch of P800's the battery cover has been modified. Now it has rigdes accross it, probably to make it stronger. The ridges are horizontal, and are on the back, so the owner will not notice a thing.

I think its just normal wear. I've had my p800 for about four months now, and mine does it.
Then again, with my old t68i, the battery became a little loose after a while and would press in slightly when you were holding the phone.
Same sorta thing I think. Live with it, or go with that idea of putting something under the cover. Think that is what I am gonna do.
