@jim,
what SW version you using? Might be best to have the phone flashed - it's a bit of a multi-purpose solution but it usually works.

No, you need an
service centre. Whereabouts in UK are you? Carphone Warehouse can do it, either at one of their Express Repair Centres (of which there are about 50 nationwide) or by sending it away from any of their branches.
