Had the same problem. Bought my phone which was sold as a t68i in greenhills checked the back sticker and saw it was made in malaysia and was indicated as t68i but when i had it upgraded at smartnet and requested for a tagalog language pack in addition to a fw upgrade i was told that it was an ie and as such they couldn't do the tagalog upgrade. In my case i have no choice since mine is a gray market unit. You, however have a strong case since you're presumably under warranty and was a victim of misrepresentation.

@erwin: yup yup yup, sa greenhills daming RECONDITIONED T68ie, obvious yung sticker sa main frame and made in china P8,500 nga lang eh, sa QUICK CHARGE,they have T68i, no chinese characters sa keypad, no chinese language menu, if you select small fonts lahat ng menu and sub menus ay small. and yung package nya is all original, yun lang walang warranty, di tulad sa semicon may warranty ang t68ie oops T68i daw pala yun pero hongkong version.

Bokayo, pre nagkarun na ko nyan ung t68i no chn charcter, font consistent as in orig na i. Kaso as my xpernce mas gus2 k ung ie k ngayun kc no bugs. Share of xpernce lang.
your right pre, you have to check everything, the box, sticker, specially the joystick and call counter, mine is 44 counts and 0 call time when i bought dis fone, SE phil confirmed that no one can reset the joyster nor the call time counter, you will know naman kung recondition or not... kutuban mo na lang, by the way it should be made in malaysia, wag ka bibile ng china hehehe
