My guess would be either the Nokia 5146 (think thats the model, always called it the face off), or the 3310. Everyone has had to either; own one of these phones or at least know someone with one.

the 3310 is the best selling phone ever, 2 years old and still selling well. the 5110 was a great phone when it came out, and laid the foundations for phone design for the next few years, but on straight sales, the 3310 wins by a mile.

i had a 6110 when they first came out, which was without doubt the best fone of that period, although i don't remember seeing many other people with one, so can't of been a big seller
