I must admit I am put off by the price. With my package I can either choose 500mins of wap a month or 0.5mb GPRS a month there after £3.00/Mb. I don't really know how long 0.5mb's would last where I can get mor of an understanding of 500 mins!

I take it you're on O2.

I'm on O2 too, I use my 500KB and it doesn't last long when browsing non wap sites, I tend to turn of "load images" to reduce the data.

I can't see how they can bill the "500mins or 500KB" part though, my guess is that you could use both 500KB and 500mins and not get charged.

The 500KB is to be used on GPRS
The 500 mins is to be used CSD on the 915000 shortcode

My main use would be scheduling of email checking. Would that be enough, doubtful of reading any attachments just the txt on some emails that seem important

For once/twice a day email checking, 500KB should be ok.

Start doing any browsing with that and you'll soon eat it up tho.

I've setup a data account with an ISP with a geographical number (e.g. 0141, 020, 0161) which means I can dial it and get my emails using that after 7pm, thus using my 500minutes of talktime rather than my 500KB of GPRS

i have a P800 and i just bought a Nec e606 on monthly bill no line rentall on the new network called "3" or "three" and i get billed by each MB i use but downloading videos and other stuff no matter how big are charged at 5p each depending on what subject the video content is on (a film clip 2 mins long = 5p but a comedy thing will cost 25p and foot ball films 5p unless its a big match)

anyway i get charged 25p for every MB i use and since its 3G all the pages load super fast at 353kbps is 25p per MB good or bad?

yes it comes with a cable to connect to Pc to use like that. and that gets charged as normal 3G price.

3G 353kbps
2G (or GPRS) 52kbps
GSM 8kbps

and they are all charged at 25p per MB so i think id use the 3G it works out more then my internet for my computer if i was to use the phone as my inet but only since i use the comp alot.

@Andy

As I remember it, high speed data from the PC is not working yet. I don't think the supplied USB cable supports it.... major bummer

To the other lad... I think 25p per MB is excellent value for money... compared to the other 4 operators that is.

Can you imagine if your ISP started to charge you 25p per MB? It would soon mount up.
