yeah I know what you mean. Although its 'just a phone' I was getting a little jelous and impatient but was lucky enough to have a friend doing a weekend trip to Sweden a couple of weekends back.
They are available here in Frankfurt now and also in UK so I wouldn't have had to wait much longer but I didn't know that.
Places like Strathfield Car Radios and
Organiser World sometimes get phones in before Optus and Telstra so might be worth checking around.

@masseur
Do you know how much does the t610 costs in Frankfurt??
It would cost me about €500 to get it from England, but if its cheaper in Frankfurt I can wait a week or 2 until I'm there.
I presume the Nokia shop in the Zeil sells them, hehe, thats where I got my T68i, I find that so ironic

Edit: sorry messed it up.
@ jester
You can get a hissing free, unbranded T610 from a Media Markt or Saturn which are huge electronics retailers in Germany for €399.
Saturn Frankfurt:
Bergerstraße 125-129,
60385 Frankfurt
Tel: 069 / 40501-0
Fax: 069 / 40501-101
check
this link for your nearest Media Markt in Frankfurt.
But they are everywhere in Germany. You are sure to find one.

I can understand the agony that you people are experiencing ... I'm eyeing on the Abyss Blue colour of the T610 and the best part is SE only brought in the Aluminum Haze model when they launch the phone in Sg on 28th May. Initial enquiries on the Abyss blue model, SE said the shipment will arrive in 2 weeks time (ie mid June ) ... NOW THEY SAY THE EARLIEST TIMING FOR THE ABYSS BLUE MODEL SHIPMENT TO ARRIVE WILL ONLY BE SOMETIME IN JULY !!!
Sometimes , it make me wonder ... it serve them right that they LOSE A BIG MARKET SEGMENT to nokia ( btw , i ANTI-nokia ) , if they continue with such marketing strategy ... good luck ... they can never recover the pie they have lose to nokia...

@ jester
one more thing: before you go to one of the stores you should probably phone them up just to make sure that they have some in stock. they are selling like hot cakes (is that an English expression??) in germany!
Also, I gathered my information from a german mobile phone forum where people posted that these retailers have them for that price and hissing free. here the link to that thread:
http://www.telefon-treff.de/showthread.php?s=1dfc73d083be0e32a3ccc93fa918bbff&threadid=58670
I also asked them whether they have any information about the stores in frankfurt. will provide you with the answers as soon as someone anwsers my question.
But they
should have the T610 for that price there.
