Can anyone tell me how I can delete a full word at one stroke? The only way I've managed to delete is one letter at a time?!?!?!

the easiest way i've found to do it is to use the virtual keyboard, u can select the whole word on there then delete close the keyboard and u can start writing again, tried highlighting words whilst just writing but it always just deletes a letter

Thanks to epscilon for the cool trick! The "L" followed by space problem had bugged me for a long while already and I find it irritating that I always have to pause when I write any word that ends with "L" such as "will".
To perform highlighting in jot, tap on the position to start the highlighting and
pause for a short while (without lifting the stylus of course), before starting the highlight.

or write a 'l' on the leftside and a dash on the rightside of screen.
