I received my T610 from eXpansys this morning. 03w20
I'm still charging it so I dont know if its "hiss-free", but will keep you posted.
Although according to the expansys tech support, the ones they have are indeed "hiss-free".

Just received my T610 from Expansys - it's a week20 unit (R1A081) - and it hisses !
BUT not in the same way as my Vodafone T610, bought 2 weeks ago (Week 19 unit)
The original model had a modulated hiss - i.e. it came and went with an audio signal and also seemed (to some extent) level related. It was also highly distorted (the hiss, not the audio signal). The new one just hisses quietly (white noise) when there is audio - it is MUCH less distracting, (perhaps because of the lack of distortion). I have owned other phones which hiss as much or more than this.
The audio quality seems the same as before and is very clear and intelligible, not T39 standard, but much better than the T68i.
And, yes, the ring tones still start quietly and get louder.
