i'm looking at BT access points as a substitute for WiFi but with the P800 not being able to BT initiate it's even more difficult !

hopefully this might be something that gets fixed with a FM update ....

Just a question about this...

I know that the P800 cannot initiate the BT connection for the SE sync software, but surely this is a failure of the SE software, not the P800. When using the Bemused software that controls WinAmp, I am able to disconnect, and reconnect as necessary from my P800 whenever I want to control the music. As long as the server is running on the desktop listening on that port, all you need to do is open the connection from the phone.

If SE pulled their finger out, they could do this for the PC Suite surely?

hehe not at all no. was just commenting on the procedures for wireless surfing via BT instead of 802.11b ....

@julianmclean

yes I suppose you're right if you have BT software that can auto-connect a specific device.

my TDK card/software could do this but now using a Vaio i can't auto-connect any device.

As far as I know the p800 can't initiate a connection to any device other than by turning BT on/off as described above.
