Anyone know if they are unlocked, I'm in Toronto Ontario and i have no idea when if ever it will be available here. I usually get my phones from the US they are cheaper than gettin git here.

It might not be available in your particular area yet. Next time you go to the site, try entering in, for example, Indiana as your home calling area and you will see it.

I think they will be locked, but with T-Mobile it is quite simple to get the unlocking code if you ask for it.

a couple of weeks ago i thought i saw in one of the threads here that the t610 will be rolling out in TMO-fla. and in HoFo i read somebody quoted a price of 150usd with contract in SF-i assume that some of the stores have em' (all unconfirmed). frankly, i'd wait until the t610 has rolled out here for weeks before i commit to one. i'd like to be certain that all the bugs would be worked out and get a defect free fon. if youre in heat, some mall kiosks for cel providers can order the T610 and hook you up with a deal provided u sign a contract. but you may run into problems with the fon you will be getting (buggy)

If you go to Cingular's site (depending on the city) like jersey city NJ, they already offer the T616 for 199.99. It's just a matter of time until the other cities get them as well... I wonder why SoCal doesn't have it yet...

Just saw it today being sold by a dealer in New York in Chinatown. She said that it is $450 USD without contract and $200 USD with a one year contract with T-Mobile. Not that bad of a deal but I think I'm gonna wait till it drops below $300 without contract.

$450 is as cheap of price as any I've seen on the internet, so I may scoop that. If I can confirm that the T616 is sold unlocked though, I will get that.

I work for T-Mobile and internal communication has announced the T610 is coming soon later this month. On the 7th some training materials will be provided so its going to be very soon. I just bought an unlocked one at a store in Chicago for $375 it is way better than the T68m I had. My new phone is quite the eye-turner at work now.

@tori:
wow, did u get that as a tmo employee hookup?i might just have to drive just to get that price.
PS
do you have any of the bugs on your t610 as reported on ESATO: hiss, blue tooth crackle, camera lag, dark line across the screen, flashing screen? your response might give us an insight as to what kind of T610s are they rolling out in north america

ASortaToriFan, what store in Chicago did you buy this from? I can't wait to get a T610. I hope TMo really does release them soon. I wonder what the upgrade price will be...

They have the T616 on the Cingular website if you put in your area as Manhattan (917) NY! $199 with 2 year contract.

I wonder, how will having a 850/1800/1900 MHz phone affect roaming ability in Europe (as opposed to 900/1800/1900)? Don't they use the 900 MHz over there? I am wondering if I should get the T610 or T616 - I am mostly in North America but I do want it to be a true "world phone".
