You clearly have no clue, as any idiot with half a brain cell would figure on contacting

direct, or checking out the

WWW site or asking at the shop you bought the phone.
Maybe you'd best go back to using something designed with the idiot user in mind - like a Nokia...?

mmm, getting a bit off topic here arent we!
Found the nearest place to me, its CPW on Cheapside, but they wouldnt update it!
They said its over a year since the phone was manufactured (week 22, 2002) so I'll have to bring in a receipt to prove I havent had it a year!
Dont think thats going to be easy tho, I dont even remember getting a receipt, it was an upgrade and they just added the cost to my bill!

Ha, that sounds like a cop-out. Did you buy/upgrade the phone from CPW; they should have records, else the vendor should be able to generate you a receipt/prrof of purchase...
Mind you CPW just phoned me to say that they couldn't do my flash just yet...
4 weeks ago, my local CPW sent the phone off to have the software flashed - it came back 2 weeks ago with the same R5D007 (Doh!) and has since started buggin' again (PIN request when left unattended with keylock on).
CPW in Richmond (near where I work) is a service centre, so I took it in there. However, when they check the phone, they still have it logged as a) being at CPW head office, and b) having been exchanged (!), despite the Swindon office closing the 'repair' and handing the phone back to me! (And it *is* the same unit as it has a feint scratch on the facia.)
Nothing *ever* goes smoothly!

Didn't get it from CPW, got it as an upgrade from the great Singlepoint!
I thought they should have been able to check th IMEI, but the guy should took off the battery, looked at the manufacture date and told me I needed my receipt!
I only have a week left on my warranty, so I'll have to find it quick!

Go on then, youo could try Carphone warehouse:
Unit 9,
27 North Bridge,
Edinburgh EH1 1SB
0131 652 3729.
Their T&Cs are:
'...Our Express Repair Centres can perform many software upgrades, on site, the same day. This service is free of charge to all customers, provided the phone is still within warranty. If your phone is out of warranty, a small charge will apply....'
