Complain all you want about the release of T68i. The fact is that if Sony did not buy (merge) with Ericsson, then there would not be any Ericsson. Ericsson was close to bankruptcy and something had to happend! Nokia (like it or not) had (maybe still has) most of the mobilphone market!
Im not a Nokia fan! Actually I have never owned a Nokia. I had Siemens phones and now I own the T68i. And I am going to buy the CommuniCam MCA-20 when I find it.

I was on CeBIT(8 days) and had a look on the 7210, and there is no news in that phone.
It can only store one picture! In the SE T68(new SW) and T68i you can store many since it has dynamic memory. The P800 is going to change design abit when it's going to be launched. More smooth edges and less plastic feel. I eat a lot of lunches during that week with SE guys so I know.
It's a pitty that a lot of folks is spreading false roumers, if it continues esato will die cause noone will care of a log of roumers. Can't laffen&co just ban all false roumer spreading people? It's easy to see who just want to make confusions if you look two weeks back in time....

Ericsson had big economical problems, but where not close to bankruptcy.
The phones was/is a very small part of Ericssons business, their future depends on the system part (3G and so on).
Now the phones are in a own company,

and the economical difficulties are still there for Ericsson. But I think that the first of their business areas that turns around and starts to bring in more money then it costs are the phone part.
They seems getting back on track, theyve left the "squarish" models behind, and I think that the joint venture with Sony are looking very good.

Considerign that the T68 is the first of its kind in colour screen technology in a small phone - it ROCKS... and yes its early days.. they WILL get better by the day.
We just have to wait for the new releases in the next few years to see what kinda differences theres gonna be.

The reason why 4096 colours are better is becos the skin tone of faces are much more lifelike!Don't u think that 256 colours cannot accurately display the skin colour?

Ericsson were not close to bankruptcy at all as only an individual can become bankrupt! Administration maybe but even that wouldn't be true. Ericsson were having *some* financial issues but even that wasn't the issue.
Sony only ever had a 3% market share in the GSM market. To increase that they needed a player with a large share and established infrastructure. Nokia would have been no good because they are themselves, what analysts call, "Doing a Sony" ie getting a little big for ones boots. Motorola had dire OS in their phones and believe it not Ericsson were a popular brand in the Enterprise sector. This was something Sony Mobiles were not.
Sony haven't 'taken over' Ericsson and ericsson would still have made phones without them. Indeed the T68 is wholly an Ericsson idea, nothing to do with Sony. It has been popular and previous posters are correct when they say that the T68i would never have happened. It is a branding excercise and nothing more. All this fuss about upgrades and the such is not justified in light of this.

the color doesn't matter MUCH to me, the functions are much more of a concern.
talking about color screens, the samsung color phone beats both the nokia and the t68 flat out i think. lol
but function wise, we're always going to be on top.

There is a different for 4096 colour and 256 colour. 256 colour tend to dither which make the pictures pixelrate. If 4096 colour you get a very smooth pixel colour.
But there is a draw back, 4096 colour are done by swapping the palettes 16 times which can be seen with our naked eye. It is good for still picture only. When you come to animated gif, you can't do that. You will see colour out of sync.
I know that the T68i support animated picture
It getting longer, don't want to continue.

Mistake.
