gud = God [the Father]
god = good, kind, nice

"Är" is equal to "is" and comes from "att vara" (To be).
It should be pronounced something like... the english word
"air"
You know, we have Å Ä and Ö, just to make our language more funkier.
Haven't you seen the "swedish chef" at the Muppet show?

Å is pronounced like a looong deeep OOO sounds (heavy sound) which we do not have in Dutch.
Finally a use for the things I learnt while in helsinki.
Btw I've been to Finnish Archipelago (Nauro) and it's very beautiful there
