I have square brackets if I click (when writing SMS for example) more, then insert symbol. The open and close square bracket are the first two items on the 3rd line immediately before the smileys (5 of them).

I am using English language of course... oh and R1L. I'm sure they were there before though.

just a thought... and I haven't tried it as I am down to one phone this week... but if sms those symbols with a space between each from your nokia to the T610 then when the message is received and you choose forward you can highlight each symbol, choose spell from the more menu and then click insert to add it to my words?
