Yep, purchased on Monday from CPW. That's why I was so suprised that it had such little free space. I haven't even had a chance to donwload any ringtones/themes/games yet. It's R3A 03W22 with software version R1A081 if that makes a difference. If I do a master/13s reset and later upgrade the software (I believe there is a newer software but my local CPW doesn't seem to have it yet) will I still have the free space I had before or will it all be filled up again?

No it was on vodafone, but thats a big difference in space, someone do a master reset without the 13 second trick and tell me how much memory is available with predefined images there. This message was posted from a T68i

OK, I'm doing a master reset now on my phone ... from the 800 odd kB it's now ... 847 kB!!! How crap is that? I'm gonna do a bit of reading on the 13s trick and maybe do it.

Okay thats weird. My vodafone t610 started out at 1,800kb. One master reset later it was 2,200. And all original predefined stuff still there. This message was posted from a T68i

Ive got a sim-free unbranded version and I also get around 2200kb free after deleting all mms templates, and all the deletable themes, sounds and pics. When I first got it I had around 800kb free which seems to compare to the rest of you guys This message was posted from a Nokia

OK, I've just done the 13 second trick. I've switched on the phone and it's booting up (black screen with egg-timer thingy on it). I'm shitting myself, hope I haven't messed up my phone . OK, rebooted and checking the memory status ... Wow ... 2210 KB. Amazing. Supposedly if you try it again and take the battery out at 10s you get even more memory, but this is enough for me. ALL my sounds are gone, only 71kb in pictures and 51kb in themes, 67kb in games (I've lost "Deep Abyss" or whatever it's called, and the "5 in a row" game).

I've got another T610 still in the box (my girlfriend's). I'll probably bluetooth some of the sounds and games (can you bluetooth games?) back to my phone. I've also got two T-Mobile branded T610's in their boxes (one for my Dad, one for my girlfriend's Dad), I'll probably give one of them a go on the 13s trick to get rid of the customisation settings and let you know how it turns out.

Apparantly, master resetting/13 sec trick messes up your memory status for your sounds i.e. it will report 0kb no matter what! I hope yours is OK! This message was posted from a Nokia

ah nice one. the 13 sec trick sounds damn tempting. 800kb just aint enough for me i dont think.

its been asked b4 but i dont believe there was an answer:

if u do the 13 sec trick and lose all predefined items, will another FULL master reset bring them back? im suppose not..

13 sec trick doesn't work. You can free up exactly the same ammount of memory by doing a master reset and then manually deleting everything that can be deleted (pictures/rings/...).

As for dangers of the 13sec trick, I am sure you all know what power outages/spikes can do to the storage media and electronic equipment.
