I'm using Zone Alarm Pro. Try shutting down zone alarm completely when you are messing around trying to get your P800 to connect. Then you will know that it's not your firewall getting in the way, and when (if) you get your P800 connected and working, start Zone Alarm again and basically just authorise all the crazy programs that pop up asking for permission. (There are half a dozen or so associated with connecting/synching/etc your P800 and Zone Alarm tries to stop them all- at least you know it's keeping you secure)

The glowing is just to say its charging really...problem is probably with your cradle. Uninstall the drivers for it...Switch off your computer then plug it in when the computer starts it should detect it..then install the drivers, restart again and should be ok. Well worth a try anyhow

Not so - the glows when the P800 is switched on and connected to the cradle....

Do you know i never knew that the SE green think on the cradle glowed gently til I read this thread and cupped my hands around the cradle to cut out some of the bright light.

"You learn something every day" they say. Well that's it for today I'm off to bed.

This seems to be SUCH a common problem; I've posted the solution in another couple of threads, for example here:

http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=33663&forum=35#post464704

Interestingly, last night, without removing the phone from the cradle, and having just copied some data cross, I 'lost' the connection temporarily - it came straight back!

Cheers,

Steven.

I've had the same problem. went to Vodafone alot of times. But they were not able to solve it. Turns out I have to close all of my anti virus and firewall. Best thing to do is to reinstall windows then install the data suite first before all other programs. That should do. But quite drastic but then again if your desperate for your P800 to work with your computer like me. then i guess you can do what I did. It sure works!

I think, you'll need the CD, because only there are the correct drivers for the usb-craddle...
