it has happened to a friend of mine as well... her 3310 got warmer and it would probably had melted/exploded if she hadn't removed the battery, the battery was original and the phone had not been exposed to liquid of any kind (I examined it afterwards
)... maybe it's time for Nokia to bury that old 3310

It is recomended to use only the real mc coy of all manufacturers, SE as well. Proof of use of third party spare parts voids the warranty on all mobile phones. Might be a wee bit more costly but deffinetly worth the extra dosh.

Update on this topic: yesterday another nokia exploded in NL. This time the phone was a very recent purchase, and had the original Nokia battery.
Unfortunately Nokia refuses to comment on the issue, which has prompted the owner (or family??) to sue for damages.....
I hope that will at least
force nokia to have a very very very good look at their circuits....

exploded ??????????? They dont explode do they, Bombs and Grenades explode, they just get hot and catch fire, i bet no where has one "EXPLODED" and taken the side of somones face or hand !!!!!!
She looks quite nice and i would, if her phone had exploded she would not look quite nice and i wouldnt

if a battery gets to hot (caused by for example a short circuit) it can explode yes...
