@mav: Until now I didn't notice that my phone doesn't have the CLIR option in the menu. So if you want to hide your number when calling you may add #31# infront of *each* number you dial (instead of going thru the menus). I remember my old R600 or T68i had the option of permanently enabled/disabled "Caller Line Identification Restriction".

Is there a mobile phone that lets you specify a list of people to block? I've never heard of one so how is that a set back for the T610?

@masseur:

Long time ago I had a SHARP GSM (it is the base for later appeared Alcatel Pocket, which had 90% the same software) and it would allow me to do something like incoming call restriction based on the numbers in its Directory and/or SIM card. So if someone bothers me, I just move his number from one place to another and he was given the "TA-TA-TA" network tone.

Do you recall what model sharp that was? since my first mobile in 1986 I have had many mobiles including NEC, motorola, panasonic, sony, mitsubishi, nokia and even a couple of Sharps, but never saw this feature. I am not suggesting this is not correct I am keen to know if I missed this feature?

@masseur: the function I want is really quite common. I have it on my Samsung T400. Just to withhold my own number from all my calls!

yes, you can withhold your own number for your calls you make (though only one a call by call basis from the phone) but that is not what we have been discussing.

We have been discussing the ability to have a list of people who get blocked when they call you and/or to block anyone who calls you who do not identify themselves.
