I had my T610 upgraded to R1L013 and it fixed the BT headset crackling problem.
BT in the T610 is working fine but you still need to switch of BT visibility in the phone to allow a PDA to talk to the phone for GPRS web access or SMS sending. This is not a hassle as you only need to do this once after you have bonded all your devices.
Only problem that it did not fix for me was the T610 resetting the speaker volume back to one bar which it seems to do every night.

Thanks all - but I still did not really get an answer.
Is there anyone here who HAD the mentioned problems in early firmware that can confirm that the DO NOT have the problems after an update.
I am trying to establish if the phone is faulty or just old firmware problems.

As for the second 'problem', once you click a link, it doesn't seem to do anything... Once you move the joystick, a little sand-timer appears above.
In fact, the phone is waiting for the next page to load. If you just leave it, it
will go there. It just shows the sand-timer when you move the joystick to tell you it's working on it!

It seems random for reboots - mostly using WAP (but that is probably most of what I use the phone for ATM) but it has done it during a call

Hmmm, it's R1A081, 03W24 - standard Orange one, not reset.
I use GPRS (Open Access) but not that much. I think there were a couple posts a while back about the T610 resetting itself. Try a search.
