Well, logically it should be possible. I guess the limitation is coming from the File Manager software that is, somehow, limited to show only the "P800" folder on the memostick and does not browse the ms from the top level...

My p10 comes 2moro, But I bought it in the knowledge that this wouldn't work, none of the programs I've used or seen accesses the memory stick from the top level unlike a card reader. Maybe it is a limitation of the firmware? or hardware itself?

Hmm I think this is a firmware solution to stop users from screwing up the different file structures different hardware needs. I think it is rather pointless though, as all Sony MS should be compatible with their different hardware. Say Sony produces a TV with MS capability. I would definitely like the idea if the TV is able to play my MPEG4 files and display my photos from the MS. What is the use in providing a 'universal' medium for data storage for your products if the way the data is stored is not compatible with the different products ?? Crazy. (Same rant I have about the PS2 not having emorystick capability, yet it supports MagicGate copyright protection)

I can see the directories of other devices in the MS when I use a Memory Card Reader.

so can anyone.. but it's reading from the p800 itself thats the problem.
Surely someone must know about this as a limitation... I'm going to email Epocware - the guys behind the filemanager, to ask them if it might have been possible at design stage to implement the changes to view the alternative file systems.
You never know...
